Mbak Miyosi Ariefiansyah is one of my friends who writes in English on her blog. It made me wonder a few things after I read her story for the first time, titled Online Education Degree Program. I'm not sure when she started writing in English, but my impression after finishing her blog post was very pleasant.

I also left my digital imprint there. My comment was: "I agree with Mbak Miyo's statement that no matter how good a school or university is, it won't automatically make us good. But the atmosphere (especially the competitive one) at the best schools is very different from others. That atmosphere can push everyone to become a better person." Hmm, do you agree with me, Sobat Dumay?

For your information, I got to know Mbak Miyo (as I call her) when we were in the same group for the "Exclusive Blogging Class." We've known each other for over three years now. I enjoy talking with her, maybe because we have some similarities. First, we both graduated with an accounting background. Second, we have the same interest: writing. It's such a blessing to be her friend. She's so diligent as a writer—just search her name, and you'll see what I mean. She has been a writer for 13 years. MasyaAllah, she really cuts the mustard!

As sobat dumay know, I decided to learn English again. At first, I just wanted to help myself become more confident when talking with others. We must keep stepping out of our comfort zone, right? That sentence isn't just for the entrepreneurial world, but for everyone, in every moment or job of their life. Overcoming the great enemy to creativity is a must. And Mbak Miyo did the same when she tried to write in English. It's refreshing to see something new in her journey as a writer!

Before this post was published, I had some conversations with her. We talked as usual, but sometimes I asked her questions that made me curious: What kind of challenges did she face when she started writing in English? Her answer was...

"Because English isn't our native language so it's definitely different. I'm still struggling. Repetition is the key.—Miyosi Ariefiansyah

In fact, Mbak Miyo isn't a beginner writer. But she still faced some difficulties and didn't give up. Mbak Miyo truly proves what she said about repetition. Let me show you some blog posts based on her favorite topics: traveling, parenting, and daily activities.

At the end of our conversation, I also asked, "What kind of writer do you want to be known as?" She replied that she wants to be known as an inspirational book writer because she enjoys every story she hears and has learned a lot from them.

Hopefully, her spirit to keep going as a multi-talented writer will always be passed on to me. I also want to be more creative and step out of my comfort zone, just as she did.
