There is a kind of stillness that arrives without warning. It doesn't make a sound, nor does it ask for attention. It wasn't sadness, not even exhaustion. It felt more like a question you didn't know how to answer.
It's difficult to admit that, especially when nothing seems broken. When you don't want to disappoint anyone, not even yourself. And do you know? It's not always heartbreak that makes someone leave. Sometimes, it's the silence.
No one teaches you how to walk away from something that still looks fine on the outside, right? No one gives you permission to say, "This isn't working anymore," when there's no visible damage to point to. But maybe that's the hardest part. You feel like you're between a rock and a hard place.
On the other hand, leaving takes courage. But it isn't weakness. Sometimes, it's the deepest form of self-respect. You're allowed to outgrow places, people, and versions of yourself. You're allowed to change your mind about what you want, what you need, and what you can bear.
So if you find yourself at the edge of something, unsure whether to stay or go, ask with sincerity, wait with patience, and trust that even in the silence, you are being guided.
You are allowed to grow.
You are allowed to begin again
As you stand at the crossroads, just remember that growth isn't linear. There is no wrong way to start over. There's no too late moment in life. When you're ready, let yourself take that first step, as soon as you can. And above all, don't forget to ask Allah for guidance and help.
P.S. I wrote this for those who feel as though the dawn
of new beginnings has already passed them by.
